Surat Lit Fest – What it is all about?

Surat Lit Fest was announced in 2022 first, also known as Bharat@2047, was actually held from January 20th to 22nd, 2023. It was the inaugural event organized by the Surat Literary Foundation, aiming to spark discussions and create a national dialogue on various aspects of India’s future in the year 2047, marking 100 years of independence.

In January 2023 – The three-day festival featured eminent experts and scholars from diverse fields across the country, engaging in panel discussions, talks, and presentations on crucial topics like:

  • Dharma and its role in shaping India’s future
  • Political landscape and governance
  • Economic growth and development strategies
  • Educational reforms and skill development
  • Media and its influence on society
  • Filmmaking and its impact on culture
  • Policy making and its effectiveness

Surat Lit Fest 2023 was a grand success, bringing together intellectuals, policymakers, and citizens to brainstorm and envision India’s path towards a bright future. It served as a platform for insightful discussions, knowledge sharing, and generating valuable ideas for the nation’s progress.

While the 2023 edition has concluded, the Surat Literary Foundation is already gearing up for the next Surat Lit Fest, scheduled for December 22nd to 24th, 2023. This upcoming event, also themed around Bharat@2047, promises to be even bigger and more impactful.

The theme for this year’s (December 22-23-24) Surat Lit Fest is still “Bharat@2047”, focusing on discussions and envisioning India’s future in the year of its 100th anniversary of independence. Over 45 expert speakers from various fields are participating in panel discussions, talks, and presentations on crucial topics like:

  • Governance and Politics: Discussing potential future models of governance, challenges and opportunities in the political landscape.
  • Economy and Development: Exploring strategies for sustainable economic growth, job creation, and infrastructure development.
  • Education and Skills: Debating education reforms, skill development needs, and preparing India’s workforce for the future.
  • Media and Social Impact: Analyzing the role of media in shaping public opinion, addressing issues like fake news and misinformation.
  • Culture and Arts: Celebrating India’s diverse cultural heritage and exploring its role in shaping national identity.
  • Science and Technology: Discussing advancements in science and technology, their impact on society, and ethical considerations.

In addition to the insightful discussions, the Surat Lit Fest 2024 also features:

In the event, over 45 eminent and renowned scientists, thinkers, speakers, journalists, strategists and experts from various fields of India will discuss the upcoming 25-year roadmap for various sectors such as our education system, foreign policy, internal security, communalism, women power, judicial reforms and UCC, ideological war, history reform, politics, media and cinema.

Along with this program, various artworks highlighting Indian art and culture, including Bharatanatyam, dance and music evening, drama, singing, etc., and our Gujarati Garba, which is called a global heritage, will be exhibited by a talented team of national level for three consecutive days in the evening.

The event is expected to attract a large number of people from all over the country and abroad. It is a great opportunity to learn about the future of India and to discuss how we can shape it.
