McDonald’s Signals the Reintroduction of Chicken Wraps in its Menu

In a significant move, McDonald’s is set to reintroduce chicken wraps to its menu, signaling a response to robust consumer demand. During an investor conference on Wednesday, McDonald’s revealed plans to expand its chicken offerings, introducing the McCrispy wrap to its lineup. With chicken accounting for a substantial $25 billion in McDonald’s business, the company is strategically positioning itself to compete with the popularity of burgers.

McDonald’s expressed its commitment to aggressive expansion in the chicken segment, emphasizing iconic products like McNuggets, McChicken, McCrispy, and McSpicy. The company aims to make McCrispy available globally by the end of 2025 and extend its presence in wraps and tenders, demonstrating a nimble approach to innovation and customer service.

Fans of McDonald’s famed chicken wraps, which originally debuted in 2006 and proved successful in catering to health-conscious, on-the-go consumers, have reason to celebrate. Despite a hiatus in the U.S. due to complications in preparation, the chain is revisiting the beloved portable hand-held Snack Wraps.

The core menu items, including Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, Chicken McNuggets, and French fries, continue to drive a significant portion, constituting approximately 65% of systemwide sales. McDonald’s ambitious plans also include expanding its restaurant count to 50,000 by the end of 2027, marking a historic period of rapid growth for the company, which currently operates over 40,000 locations across more than 100 countries.
