The modifications in the pricing of Mahindra & Mahindra’s SUV lineup, including the Scorpio-N, Thar, and XUV700, are a direct response to the escalating production costs. Among these models, the XUV700 has witnessed the most substantial price surge, with specific variants registering increases of up to ₹57,000.

Mahindra & Mahindra, the well-established Indian automotive manufacturer, has recently enforced a price increase on its flagship SUVs – Scorpio-N, Thar, and XUV700. This decision stems from the growing production costs, and the adjustments have been promptly implemented on specific variants of these three popular SUV models.

The XUV700, among the affected vehicles, has experienced the most notable surge in price. Particularly, the AX7 L petrol variant featuring a 7-seat configuration and manual gearbox has undergone a significant increase of ₹57,000. Similarly, the diesel variant of the same model, available with both manual and automatic transmissions, has witnessed a price hike of up to ₹53,000.

Interestingly, the price adjustments have not followed a uniform pattern, as eight variants of the XUV700 have witnessed a reduction in prices. The four entry-level petrol variants, for instance, have seen cuts of up to ₹15,000. The AX5 diesel variant, equipped with an automatic gearbox and 5-seat options, has experienced the most substantial reduction of ₹21,000. As a result, the XUV700’s price range now extends from ₹13.99 lakh to ₹26.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with prices for seven variants remaining unchanged.

Shifting focus to the Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic models, all versions of these SUVs have undergone price adjustments, ranging from a minimum of ₹1,000 to a maximum of ₹40,000. Noteworthy is the Z8 7-seater variant featuring all-wheel drive (AWD) and automatic transmission, which maintains its current price at ₹23.08 lakh (ex-showroom). The most significant price increase in this series is observed in the Z8 L 6-seater variant with manual transmission in both petrol and diesel options. The introductory petrol Scorpio-N sees a rise of ₹34,000, while the starting price for the diesel variant has been elevated by ₹24,000. Consequently, the Scorpio-N SUV now commences at ₹13.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and reaches ₹24.54 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-tier variant.

In addition, the automaker has raised prices for all Thar SUV variants, with the most notable surge seen in the AX(O) diesel manual variant, which now carries a price tag ₹35,000 higher. Furthermore, the flagship petrol variant LX, equipped with an automatic gearbox, has experienced a price increase of ₹34,000. Consequently, the Thar’s starting price now stands at ₹11.25 lakh (ex-showroom), while the highest-end variant is priced at ₹17.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
